The Rayment 5 x 4in Field camera is a standard, traditional flat bed design. It is made in brass and mahogany and is built to give a long reliable service. Great attention has been paid to the locking systems so that the movements can be made very stable in use and allow for wear. All major moving parts run on a metal to metal basis for long life. Both the front and back standard can be moved independently along the baseboard. The front has falling, rising movements as well as swings in the vertical and horizontal planes. The lens panel is the industry standard type which can be interchanged with most other similar cameras including the Rayment AL. The back swings and twists on the vertical axis. The maximum bellows extension is about 320mm and the minimum is about 60mm. The camera weighs about 1.6kg without lens and shutter and measures about 7 x 7.5 x 4in overall when folded.
