The Rayment 5 x 4in Technical was the first camera introduced into the range. It has a comb jointed body reinforced with an inner frame. The baseboard locks not only in the normal taking position but also in a dropped mode for wide angle work. The brass focusing track hinges so that focusing is still possible with the lens standard, if necessary, set inside the camera body. The maximum extension for close up work is about 38cm. The lens panel is the standard 4 x 4in (MPP) size and will take a wide range of lenses. The front standard is made to allow rising and cross movements and also swings in both the horizontal and vertical axes. There is also a focus lock for use if needed. The camera back will permit four way swings and is designed for Fidelity type slides. The back can be reversed for vertical or landscape pictures. The camera weighs about 2kg without lens or shutter.
