The Rayment 5 x 4in Twin lens Reflex was built as an experimental project for my own use and has never been offered for sale. It is made from the same materials as the other cameras in the range but for a totally different purpose. Sometimes it is necessary supply larger format transparencies for special clients of subjects which would be difficult to photograph using more conventional cameras. This could include children or animals or anything which is difficult to fix in one place long enough to operate the camera with certainty. The camera itself is fitted with a 203mm taking lens in a flash synchronised shutter and a larger aperture focussing lens. The shutter is triggered from a conveniently placed release near the focussing knob. On the other side of the body is a contoured hand grip in case the camera has to be used in the hand. Parallax is taken care of by an automatic sliding mask under the top focussing screen and subjects as close as one 1m are able to be photographed. There is a reversing back to handle landscape or portrait use. A roll film holder for 6 x 9cm images can be fitted.
